Annual Dinner Scheduled for October 15

Old National Wealth Management Presents: It Was a Very Good Year, a taste of wines with dinner, will take place on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Sycamore Banquet Center.

As Art Spaces begins a second decade of bringing together people, business and art to build a vibrant city, we welcome our generous long-time supporters and new friends to join us for a festive and flavorful evening, featuring a new roster of celebrity sommeliers.

Everyone attending helps play a part in building a collection of outdoor sculptures for generations to enjoy. There are now eighteen original works located throughout Terre Haute, freely accessed by residents and visitors at all times.

Dinner sponsorships are $850.00 and provide you with a table of eight and logo placement in the dinner program.

A table for eight is $600.00 and individual tickets are $80.00 each. Early reservations may be made by calling 812-235-2801. Invitations will be mailed in August.

2016 Max Ehrmann Poetry Competition Announcement

Art Spaces in partnership with ISU Community School of the Arts is pleased to announce the theme of the 2016 Max Ehrmann Poetry Competion, You ar a Child of the Universe: Poems of Belonging and Not Belonging.

This year’s theme is based on a line from Max Ehrmann’s best known poem, Desiderata, “You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars you have a right to be here”.

Max held to a philosophy of inclusion, for people of any background, religious persuasion, or even personality. We ask that people submitting works to this year’s competition consider ideas of belonging and /or not belonging.

No more than 2 poems per contestant will be accepted. Entries recieved or postmarked after February 19 will not be accepted.

Open to individuals of all ages living, working or attending school in Clay, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion, and Vigo Counties.

The competition will be judged by an Indiana poet. There will be prizes awarded to the elementary, middle school, high school and over 18 yrs of age winners.
