Art Spaces’ Board of Directors has decided to not have a Book Review Luncheon this year. The Luncheons are one of the favorite events of friends of Art Spaces and we plan to resume the Luncheon at the Country Club of Terre Haute next year in the Spring.

For our annual elegant luncheon at the Country Club of Terre Haute speaker Arthur Feinsod will share thoughts about the book Self and Soul: A Defense of Ideals by Mark Edmunson, published by Harvard University Press in 2015.

Self and Soul: A Defense of Ideals reminds us that we are creatures of soul as well as  physical beings. Ideals to live by, as illuminated and encouraged by the “great books,” are valuable to take into account as we examine our present-day culture and imagine our future.

Arthur Feinsod is a writer and director who teaches in the Indiana State University Department of Theater and Honors College. He has published two books: The Simple Stage (Greenwood Press) and Sword Against the Sea (Samuel French), and, recently, chapters for University and Society (Edward Elgar Publishing) and Great North American Stage Directors (Methuen Drama). His play Coming to See Aunt Sophie (2014) toured Germany, Poland and Chicago and Table 17 (2007) will be performed at the Jewish Theater of Bloomington in May 2021.
