The Wabash Valley has been made stronger through the integration of public art into the lives of everyone in our community, and this has been possible through the support of people like you. The tremendous kindness, encouragement and financial support shown to Art Spaces by our community, even through tough times, has made all the difference and we are so grateful to be a part of such a supportive community.

We are excited to share with you some highlights from Art Spaces’ past year:

  • Implementation of Turn to the River began this year and construction of Phase I is nearing completion! The new sculpture and water feature will forever transform our shared city/county public plaza in a way that is meaningful to our community as well capturing our cultural history. We do hope you share in the pride of making this stunning project a reality!
  • Engineering has advanced on NEIGHBORS, a participatory public artwork proposed by internationally award-winning artist Matthew Mazzotta for Herz-Rose Park in the Ryves Neighborhood. His concept emerged from ideas offered by neighborhood residents to ignite creativity and connection and foster an atmosphere of invention and possibility.
  • A Chorus of Trumpets, a community favorite and much-loved sculpture on the campus of Indiana State University, has been successfully renovated, ensuring that visitors will be able enjoy this spectacular piece of work for years to come.
  • Planning began for a new sculpture for Terre Haute’s Cultural Trail through which Art Spaces and community partners will celebrate Terre Haute’s history through a new work of art. Next up is the Lost Creek Settlement, and increasing awareness of its importance to our shared histories.

As we plan a spring celebration for the completion of Phase I of Turn to the River, we will also begin design development and construction documents for the public Event Space en route to the river. Your ideas will be welcomed through surveys and a charrette, so stay tuned!

We have missed celebrating the arts together and look forward to many gatherings next year. Please know that it is through the ongoing financial support of community members that the quality of life in the Wabash Valley is growing in meaningful and accessible ways.

Will you help to keep up the momentum?  Through the outstanding matching challenge offered by a generous donor, your support will be matched up to $20,000 allowing your dollars to have double the impact!

Thank you for considering a gift to Art Spaces!
